Technology, and particularly the internet, is changing ways
in which we communicate with one another.
10 years ago the social networking site ‘Friendster’ was the biggest
with 3 million members. Now, Facebook
has over 900 million members. Making a
telephone call to loved ones in another country was very expensive, but now
thanks to Skype, over 70 million members make video calls for free.
These advances, and many others, are a challenge for schools
and teachers. At Tu Xuong we have to ask
which of these communication methods we should be using as part of our children’s
education. Last year we started to use
blogs. This is something we are
developing further this year.
At our Parents’ Information Meeting on Tuesday 4th
September, we will be talking more about this, so please come along to find out
more. Also, this year I will be keeping
a blog which can be found at:
Please feel free to put comments or ask questions about
anything to do with school.
