As part of our health and safety procedures at TX, we have regular fire practices. On some occasions, we simply practise clearing the building safely and calmly. Today our practice was carried out along side the Ho Chi Minh City Fire Department. Under their careful supervision, a fire was set in the playground and the fire alarm sounded. The children from F1 to Year 6 were excellent as they silently evacuated the building. Our guards blocked the road and the children safely crossed and assembled in the grounds of the Cristina Noble Foundation. Sirens then filled the air as the fire engines arrived. A simulation exercise was then carried out, which involved rescuing two members of staff who were 'trapped and injured' in the building. All these happenings were overseen by Ms Mandy, our Facilities Manager. In the de-brief following the practice, the fire officers informed Ms Mandy that our procedures were without fault and that an excellent job was done by staff and children alike.
