Dragons' Den - Year 6

The role of the deputy headteacher is a very diverse one. No two weeks are ever the same. This morning I was asked to be a 'dragon' along with Ms Sue, Mr Steve and Ms Phuong. 'Dragons' Den' is a popular television show in the UK where individuals, or groups, who think they have a good business plan, 'pitch' to four very successful members of the business community. They hope that one or more will invest in their product, in return for a share of the company.
Somewhat nervously, the children in Year 6 entered the 'Dragons' Den' this morning hoping that they could convince the dragons to invest in their fairground ride. The standard of their pitches was incredibly high, and they used all sorts of arguments and gimmicks to try and draw attention to their ride; all the time being aware that the dragons were looking for an original, profit making idea.
Congratulations to those successful entrepreneurs who received the backing of the dragons, but to everyone, well done for making such an effort both with the rides and the presentations.

  1. Well done Y6. You all look so professional. Were you nervous pitching your ideas to the panel? I would have been extremely nervous and would have probably stuttered and stammered a lot!
