Y5 in Hoi An Day 1

The children are now all in bed and fast asleep (well most of them are).  It has been a great day!
On arrival in Danang, we headed straight to Marble Mountain.  After climbing to the top, we all had lunch, before splitting into two groups; boys and girls.  I was with the girls who first went to on a tour of the mountain.  We visited a fantastic cave, a temple and a couple of watchtowers.  Then it was time for abseiling.
I was very impressed with the team from Phat Tires.  They made the rules very clear to the children and then took them through a step-by-step guide to abseiling off a low rock.  We then climbed to the top and were then faced with a decision.  Abseil into a cave or down the side of the cliff.  The children showed great courage as they faced their fears and one by one stepped to the edge. Many enjoyed it so much they had another go.
After freshening up at the hotel, we went to the centre of town to taste some of the best food Hoi An had to offer.
