I was surprised to see the children in Year 2 finding out about dinosaurs today. Only yesterday, on the blog, I posted about the Year 3 children doing work about dinosaurs. Has the school gone dinosaur crazy?
The children told me that their IPC topic was 'Time Detectives' and they were learning about how we find out about the past. When they had been archaeologists last week, they uncovered some fossils and that had led them on to finding more about things that happened pre-historically.
Yesterday, the Year 3 children were learning ICT skills by doing some work on dinosaurs. Today, some Year 2 children were learning about the past (dinosaurs) by doing some work on the laptops in their classrooms. This highlights the difference between Mr Mike's and Ms Jocelyn's roles. Ms Jocelyn focuses on teaching the children the skills; Mr Mike encourages and supports the teachers as they use more and more, mobile, technology in the classrooms.
