Y5 in Hoi An D3: Tra Que Vegetable Village/Thu Bon River

Another hearty breakfast was had by all to set everyone up for a day in the fields.  A short coach journey took us to our first activity of the day which was a visit to the Tra Que Vegetable Village. On arrival, we were given a traditional drink made with a local fruit, ginger, mint and sugar which, we were told, helps prevent heat exhaustion.  Splitting into two groups, one group toured the village, whilst the other set to work planting vegetables using the traditional methods.  Having swapped activities and as it was approaching lunchtime, the children used some of the produce to cook 'banh xeo'.
After lunch we travelled to the centre of Hoi An were we split up into four groups for a ride up the Thu Bon River back to our hotel.
