Saint George's Day

Last year, we celebrated the Queen of England's diamond jubilee.  We had events in school and participated in the 'garden party' hosted by the British Business Group in Vietnam at our An Phu campus.  Everyone got into the spirit of the occasion and a number of parents asked if we could do a similar event this year.

Next Tuesday is St. George's Day (always April 23rd) and, although not on the same scale, we will be having an afternoon of 'British-ness'. Saint George (or St. George) is the patron saint of England and his symbol, the red cross, on a white background makes up the flag of England.

Each year group will be doing different activities, so please see your child's class blog or Studywiz page later this week for details.  There will also be more  information on this week's newsletter.

I wonder if any of the children can find out about St George; who he was and why he became a 'saint'.  Put a comment below if you do.
