Drug Education in Year 6

At the BIS, our curriculum is  designed not only to enable academic success, but to develop 'the whole child'.  In Year 6, this afternoon, I came across a good example of this as the children were beginning some work on 'drug education'.  This topic fits into many areas of the curriculum including IPC, science, PSHE and Information Literacy.  At this 'knowledge harvest', the children were given the opportunity to write down what they know already and then to ask questions they would like to find the answers to.
Guided by Mr. James and Ms. Rachel, the children will explore this area over the next few weeks, and will learn science facts, information literacy skills, and more importantly, develop a healthy attitude and deeper understanding of drugs.
