Coffee Morning - The Importance of Play

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” Albert Einstein

At TX, we believe it is essential that children develop a good imagination, and it is good to know we have Einstein's backing in this.  On Wednesday morning, Ms Chloe and Ms Nicola, led the latest in our series of coffee mornings about 'The Importance of Play'.  It was good to see so many parents there considering why our curriculum in the Early Years especially is based around play.
As well as getting everybody involved in fun games such as 'Do This, Do That', we considered how the job market is  looking for individuals with creativity and initiative.  In fact, a 2009 survey of employers by 'CareerBuilder and Robert Half International' showed that, along with the ability to multi-task, creativity and initiative were the three most sought after qualities.  We want our children to be in demand when they are older, which is why it is essential they learn to play.
