Communication

Effective communication is one of the biggest challenges we face as a school, and we try to put systems in place to ensure that you get the information necessary to support your child's learning.

There are a number of ways information is passed:

Face-to-face
- Class teacher
- Milepost Leader
- Deputy Head
- Headteacher

Parents' Meetings
- Two Parent Consultation Meetings (November 27th and March 19th)
- Coffee Mornings (with translators who speak Vietnamese and Korean)
- Workshops (Milepost One on 'Blogging' is planned for September 24th)
- Residential trip meetings

Email
If you cannot get in to school, all teachers have a school email address in the form:
first name last name@bisvietnam.com

They will try to respond as soon as they can.

Newsletter
Each Friday a newsletter is emailed to you.  Please take time to read this each week to find out what has been going on in school, and about upcoming events.
Please make sure we have your current e-mail address.  Let Ms Emma know if there are any changes.

CHQ
- Three times a year to choose clubs
- By logging in and clicking on 'My Schedule', you can see what extra curricular activities your child is doing.  Also, there is information about where the clubs take place, what time they finish, as well as sporting fixtures, etc.

Reports
There are two reports per year.  The Interim Report will be sent out on November 14th.  This will focus on the areas/targets your child needs to work on.  The End of Year Report comes out on June 12th focusing more on the achievements your child has made during the year.

Handbooks
You will receive a Milepost Handbook in the meetings with your child's teacher.

Blogs
We use blogs a great deal at TX as they are a great way to communicate and build the link between school and home.  It easy for the class teacher to:

- Celebrate achievements in class.
- Share information about upcoming events.
- Show photos and videos.

Another advantage of blogs are the tools.

The translate tool - It easy to switch between languages.

The Follow By Email tool - You do not need to keep checking the blog.  When something new is posted, you will receive an email to tell you. 

To set up 'follow by e-mail', follow these simple steps:

1) Add your email address.
2) Prove you are not a robot
3) Click on the link when you receive the verification e-mail.
