Yesterday's news in the UK (and no doubt today's also) has been dominated by one thing - the Scottish Independence Referendum. The people of Scotland are deciding if they want to remain part of the United Kingdom or become an independent country. It is a momentous occasion!
At TX today, the children were using their vote to make a different sort of decision, but none the less momentous for those children involved. Following a short, colourful, assembly together in the hall, the children went to different locations around the school according to their house. Suddenly, the hall was awash with yellow (Hue), Mr James's classroom turned as red as Liverpool's home kit (Hanoi), Mr Mike's classroom was green (Dalat) and the Multi-purpose room was even bluer than it normally is (Saigon).
All the children in Year 6 had prepared speeches and delivered them with passion and persuasive arguments as to why they should be elected as house captain. When everyone had spoken, a secret vote was counted and the results passed to Mr James, who will be revealing who this year's house captains will be in next week's assembly.
