Celebrating Diwali

The colourful saris were amazing, the refreshments were delicious and the dancing was enjoyed by everyone.  For the first time, we had a coffee morning for parents led by parents all about Diwali.  After the initial prayer and informative introduction, we were treated to a display of traditional Diwali dancing by our Indian mums.  There was no shortage of volunteers to join in as we were taught how to do another Diwali dance involving sticks.  The savoury snacks and Indian tea were enjoyed as several mums and Ms Sue were dressed in saris.  A great time was had by all who attended.

Thank you so much to Anne Salapete, who had the initial idea for our celebration this morning, and to all our Indian mums who worked so hard to make today such a success, and set the flavour for our International term.
There were many photos taken this morning and I have put a photolink under the slideshow so you can download your favourites.
