A graduation is an important point in anyone's life, and this was the case for the children who became 'Masters of Learning' this morning.
At TX, we are always looking to improve the learning of the children, and for the last two years, we have tried to identify what 'outstanding learning' looks like. We have linked this to the school's 'aide memoire' and produced a series of 'I can' statements to make it clear to the children what they need to do to be outstanding in a particular area. For example, to be outstanding at 'learning together' in Milepost 3 one statement reads;
'I can actively listen and respond to the input of others in the class.'
There are 4 or 5 statements for each element of the 'aide memoire'. Those children who have been seen to demonstrate all of the statements for a particular area are deemed 'Masters of Learning'.
This morning witnessed the first children to graduate as 'Masters of Learning' and it was great to see so many parents present to witness the occasion.
