The First Day Back

A new term presents new opportunities and challenges. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces this morning while I was on 'Gate Duty'. As well as the those returning pupils, we had 12 new children starting today. Most of these children were in EYFS, and as I visited the classrooms it was great to see those children settling so quickly to life at TX.
Many classes are also beginning new IPC topics this week so I am looking forward to seeing and hearing about the exciting 'Entry Points'. In one F3 I was invited to sit in the cafe where my order was taken and then I was served a ham sandwich. The other F3 class had turned into building site. A group children with hard hats were busy hammering and constructing. These role play areas play such an important role in the children's language and social development. There was a clue also, on one of the signs, hinting at which story the children will be listening to in the near future.
