G9 Summit in Year 5

What is best hope for the future of energy on Earth?  We use many forms of energy to create electricity and the children in Year 5 have been considering which ones are the best to secure a safe and sustainable future for our planet.  The children in Ms Kris' class researched information about non-renewable forms of energy, whilst the children in Ms Alice's class were focusing on renewable energy sources.
Having decided upon their area of study, the children spent time researching information and deciding if their sources were reliable.  Nicholas told me that if the webpage he had found was a government website, then it could be trusted.  Once the children had gathered enough information, they attempted to present their information in such a way as to convince their classmates that their energy source was the choice for the future.  There were Powerpoint presentations, quizzes, word searches, posters and information books.
If that wasn't enough, each group had written a song or poem about their presentation.  The 'Coal' group's song is below.
