'The important thing is to not stop questioning.' This is what Einstein believed, and at TX our science activities are designed to develop that sense of wonder in children that will encourage them to feel the same way.
As a way of introducing Wednesday's 'Science Day', Ms Ciara Gillespie (Head of Chemistry at AP2) came with some of her science team to lead an assembly on Tuesday afternoon for all our children from F3 to Year 6. We were all amazed and excited by the variety of experiments that she demonstrated with the help of child and teacher volunteers; Mr James and Ms Alice held fire in their hands and there was quite no one quite expected the reaction when water was sprayed on some powder in a jar. Why did that happen? Why were Mr James and Ms Alice not burned? Why was the flash so bright? What happened inside the big La Vie bottle?
The children came out of the hall asking lots of questions. It was the perfect introduction to Science Day.
