MP1 Swimming Gala

We put a high value on swimming at the BIS; it is such an important skill to learn!  According to Swimsafe, an organisation dedicated to teaching children in Asia essential survival skills 32 children drown every day in Vietnam (swimsafe.org/drowning/drowning-data/). It is because we do not want any of our children to become part of those statistics that we are insistant that all children participate in our swimming programme.

It is not just about safety though. Not only is swimming a great all round exercise, but it is also great fun.  This was clearly evident in the Milepost 1 Swimming Gala that took place at TX today.  There were some wonderful performances from our top swimmers that is true, however it was the team event that made the day so exciting.  Everyone who took part contributed to their teams final score, and at all levels there were some very close races. However, when the last race is done, there can be only one winner, so congratulations to Hanoi for such an amazing effort.
Well done also, and a big thank you, to Ms Charlie and Mr Chau for organising this wonderful event.  Your commitment to the children was evident to all.
